La Pievuccia is a winery that focuses all its efforts on environmental sustainability and biodiversity. It is committed to producing high quality wines through natural methods, as well as preserving local agricultural and oenological traditions. La Pievuccia avoids the use of enzymes, yeasts, tannins, acidifiers or other oenological additives, allowing spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and minimising the use of sulphur dioxide.
To reduce its ecological footprint, La Pievuccia uses lightweight bottles, 100% biodegradable sugar cane caps, and recycled grape marc paper labels. The winery powers its operations with a 12 kW photovoltaic system, ensuring 100% renewable energy production.
La Pievuccia’s processes are manual, from pruning to grape selection, in order to respect the natural cycles of the plants. The company cultivates and manages an organic and biodynamic vegetable garden and farmlands measuring over two hectares that are planted with fruit, vegetables, herbs and aromatic plants. The property is enriched by a variety of fruit trees and hosts apiaries, contributing to biodiversity, and allowing for production of different varieties of honey.
