La Guardiola

Azienda Agricola La Guardiola is located in Civitella in Val di Chiana, at 600 metres above sea level on the Apennine ridge. It is a small jewel set amidst coniferous forests in one of the few places in Tuscany that does not boast a long tradition of winemaking, which makes the La Guardiola even more special. In fact, the winery grows elegant and difficult grape varieties such as Sangiovese and Pinot Noir, which it produces in purity and in small quantities. They are able to express themselves at this altitude and in conditions that are pretty unique.
La Guardiola focuses on managing precision viticulture, with a wine cellar built to be highly functional and to enhance the fruits of the 7 hectares of vineyards that are planted.
La Guardiola’s three vineyards stand on medium-textured soils that tend toward sandy, providing structure, olfactory complexity and elegance. The very latest criteria of agroecology are applied here, enhancing the biodiversity of the vineyard system through the use of green manure techniques, mycorrhization, and all of the practices that foster the natural fertility of the soil to bring out the qualitative potential of the grapes.
