Arezzo, a city and its Joust
The Giostra del Saracino means tradition and true passion for the people of Arezzo. In May, every Saturday and Sunday morning, themed guided tours will be organised, where passion is renewed and crosses time. Thanks to an itinerary that will take you to the most significant places of the Joust of the Saracen, you will be able to take a plunge into the Middle Ages among knights and ladies, ancient tournaments, drum rolls and colourful flags, to learn about the tradition of the Joust and discover Arezzo as you have never seen it. In addition, this year we are celebrating the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the district societies, which were founded on 23 March 1932, and special guided tours of the four city districts are scheduled for the weekend. On Saturday 14 May (3.00 pm), the tour will focus on the Quartiere di Porta Sant’Andrea, while on Sunday 15 May (also 3.00 pm) it will be the turn of the Quartiere di Porta del Foro.
