A journey through art in Casentino

Two exceptional temporary exhibitions invite you to a special visit in Casentino. In Poppi takes place “Nel Segno di Dante. Il Casentino nella Commedia”, the first exhibition of the “Terre degli Uffizi” program, a tribute to Alighieri in exile from Florence, in the land that first welcomed him into exile and where he wrote part of the Divine Comedy.
On display are works of art that come from the Uffizi Gallery and allow us to retrace the story of the Supreme Poet in this area. The event Uffizi Diffusi with the exhibition in Poppi in these days has been included by the prestigious Time Magazine in the 100 most beautiful places in the world to visit: “the timeless charm of Tuscany is combined with the innovative idea of the project to spread works and visitors in the ancient villages of this land,” reports the international magazine.” Discover the exibithion.
Remaining in Casentino and going up to Chiusi della Verna, in the rooms of the Podesteria of Michelangelo it will be possible to admire the work of Pinturicchio a fragment of a more important mural painting, made in the private apartments of Pope Alexander VI Borgia (1431 – 1503).
