The Centogusti of the Apennines in Anghiari

The autumn appointment with “I Centogusti dell’Appennino” returns to Anghiari. From Friday, October 29th to Monday, November 1st, there will be a four-day market exhibition on the theme of food and wine that animates the town of the famous battle of Anghiari. There will be countless excellences, from pecorino cheese to chocolate, from wines to vegetables, from typical sweets to cold cuts, with the possibility of tasting and buying on the spot, with the advantage of a direct dialogue with the producers. Everything will be welcomed in the ancient stores of this precious historical center. The exhibition market, now in its 21st edition, allows you to take a journey through flavors and traditions. On Sunday November 1st takes place the “Camminata dei Centogusti” (Walk of the Hundred Tastes) with departure from the walls.

Guided tours with Outdoor Experience

Continues the Outdoor Experience calendar, a program of excursions and outdoor activities designed to immerse themselves in the colors and scents that the autumn season gives us. Saturday, October 30 “Pieve a Sietina e le Terre Barbaritane”, with departure at 9.30 am from Giovi near Arezzo. On the last slopes of Pratomagno towards the city of Arezzo there are the Terre Barbaritane, furrowed by ancient streets and embellished by ancient churches and abbeys, for a walk in the beautiful scenery of the Arezzo countryside and discover Pieve a Sietina, Badia di Campoleone, Castelluccio.
Sunday, October 31 “Halloween in the woods” an event designed for children in nature. Departure at 10 am from Pratovecchio Stia on the “Sentiero dei Tedeschi”. From time to time a strange creature comes out of the woods: will it be man or beast? Good or bad? Reality or legend? You can find out during this easy hike between game, stories of fairies and witches who live in the woods.
The excursions of the Outdoor Experience program, promoted and organized by the Fondazione Arezzo Intour, are free with compulsory reservation.

The fantastic world of OZ in Terranuova Bracciolini

At the Teatro Auditorium Le Fornaci in Terranuova Bracciolini coming a show and a workshop for boys and girls inspired by the world of OZ. The program of the two-day event includes Saturday 30 and Sunday, October 31, starting at 18.00, the show “OZz. Della mancanza e dello stupore” a Diffusioni/KanterStrasse production directed by Simone Martini. Sunday, October 31 children’s workshop “Smeraldo” with the construction of puppets in recycled materials. Free participation, reservations required, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

In Raggiolo, home of the chestnut of Pratomagno

Raggiolo is a very small village on the Casentino side of Pratomagno characterized by stone houses and small streets, surrounded by woods, where time seems to have stopped. Here, for generations, chestnuts have been cultivated and at the end of October there is the Festa di Castagnatura, an occasion to taste delicious chestnut-based dishes for lunch and dinner, but also to taste local wine, salami and Casentino products. On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October, you can immerse yourself in the tradition and identity of Raggiolo by visiting the Chestnut Ecomuseum that collects the memory of this place. Among the events scheduled for Saturday, October 30, the walk “The village suspended in time” (16 hours), the show “Stars, sparks and stornelli” (20.00), with dinner under the stars around the log in Piazza San Michele. Sunday 31 October from 14.00 visits to the Dryhouse of Cavallari and the Mill of Morino, while at 16.00 reenactment of the pounding of chestnuts in baskets with clogs nailed. At 17.00 the dryhouse and the mill will host the novellas told by Samuele Boncompagni and Andrea Schiatti, during the traditional appointment of “Tempo di veglia”.

A weekend among the exhibitions of the Uffizi diffused

As part of the Uffizi diffuse project, promoted by the Uffizi Galleries for the enhancement of artistic heritage in Tuscany, in Castiglion Fiorentino until January 6 you can visit “The Last Seal. The Stigmata of St. Francis at La Verna” with the masterpiece by Ludovico Cardi, known as Cigoli, “St. Francis receives the stigmata” (1596) on loan from the Uffizi Gallery.
In Poppi for the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, until November 30th “Nel segno di Dante. Il Casentino nella Commedia”, an exhibition held in the castle of the Guidi counts, the place where he wrote part of the Divine Comedy. In Anghiari until January 6th, “La civiltà delle armi e le Corti del Rinascimento” (The civilization of arms and the Courts of the Renaissance), an exhibition that through the story of the works of art, reveals who the men of arms of Anghiari were, men who lived in the 15th century and transformed themselves from warriors to men who loved culture, building significant contacts with the most cultured and avant-garde Italian environments of the period.
