A new lively weekend is coming to Arezzo, all to be discovered. Guided excursions allow you to experience nature and the beauty of the area with the magic of Fall Foliage. Theaters reopen and the curtains rise on shows and concerts not to be missed.
The Fall Foliage Festival with the colors of autumn
Fall Foliage Sunday arrives in the heart of the National Park of the Casentino Forests, which at this time of year offers one of the most beautiful natural spectacles: the colors of the forest which, just for a few days, light up with infinite shades of yellow, red, green and orange. Sunday, October 24 in Badia Prataglia (Poppi) there will be a series of events with departure from the center for a visit to the Park. Appointment at 9.00 am with “Photographing Nature” an excursion in the company of a naturalist photographer and guided tours in the forest of Badia Prataglia and in the forest of the Lama, among the most colorful in Italy. The Fall Foliage Festival also involves children and families with the animated excursion “Andar per Castelletti” in search of chestnuts with departure at 10 am. Back to Arezzo Youth Music Festival
The Petrarca Theater reopens with its 85 elegant stages for the Arezzo Youth Music Festival, an event that aims to turn the spotlight on classical music. Conceived by the young Giovanni Andrea Zanon, born in 1998, the Youth Festival has succeeded in bringing to Arezzo extraordinary musicians “under 35”. The festival kicks off Saturday, October 23 at 21.15 with a concert by the Youth Orchestra of Arezzo conducted by Roberto Pasquini and Erica Piccotti on cello. Music by Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Rossini and Beethoven will be performed.

The Spectator Festival
The appointments with the sixth edition of the Festival dello Spettatore, an event dedicated to the theater that offers workshops, seminars and theatrical performances in theaters, squares and places of culture, focusing its attention on the public, continue in Arezzo until Sunday, October 24. Among the many events, Friday 20 at the Teatro Pietro Aretino takes place “Sustainability of culture – culture of sustainability”, a reflection on priorities and thematic indicators proposed by the Agenda Culture 2030. In Piazza San Iacopo from 16.00 to 18.00, Nata Teatro presents “Il Teatro alla finestra”, while at 21.30 at the Teatro Verdi in Monte San Savino is staged “Cinderella” with Zaches Teatro. Saturday, October 23 at 14.30 at the Teatro Pietro Aretino “Spectators the great reunion #6”, a national event of groups of spectators in Italy who meet in Arezzo to share motivations, desires, visions of the public at the theater. Sunday, October 24 at 17.30 at the Teatro Petrarca, “Beauty and the Beast” by Stivalaccio Teatro and at 21.30 at Cinema Eden, closing of the Festival with the screening of the film “Rastrelli. Art, theaters and actors at the time of the plague”.

“Materiali in Scena” at the Cavriglia Theatre
This weekend the new edition of “Materiali in Scena” (Materials on Stage) starts again at the Theater of Cavriglia, a space for multimedia and innovative theatrical experimentation, where the stage is transformed into a place to tell the stories and memories of a world in constant transformation. Scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd, “Majakovskij!” with Arlo Bigazzi and Chiara Cappelli, a show suspended between theater and music that takes up the works of Georgian artist Vladimir Vladimirovič Majakovskij, one of the greatest interpreters of post-revolutionary Russian culture. Start at 21.30.

Classical Music in San Giovanni Valdarno
Sunday 24th October in the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista of San Giovanni Valdarno, concert of the XVI edition of the Classical Music Festival with the Oida String Quintet accompanying Vicente Campos (trumpet) and Oleg Poliansky (piano). Start at 5 p.m., reservation required.

Outdoor Experience, Autumn guided tours
For the entire autumn season you can discover the territory of Arezzo with the Outdoor Experience calendar, a program of excursions and outdoor activities designed to immerse yourself in the colors and scents of the territory of Arezzo. Environmental guides will let you know the most beautiful paths to be taken in this season and will accompany you in the heart of a wonderful nature. In this weekend, Saturday, October 23 at 9.30 am “The way of water, discovering the Vasari aqueduct”, a fascinating experience to discover one of the works of hydraulic engineering considered among the most beautiful in the world, wanted by the Fraternita dei Laici at the end of 1560 and designed by the great Giorgio Vasari.
Sunday 24th at 3.30 pm “On Dante’s path in Casentino, Pieve and Castello di Romena”, an excursion in the Casentino countryside wrapped in its timeless aura, to follow Dante’s path and discover the places that speak of the Supreme Poet.
The excursions of the Outdoor Experience program, promoted and organized by the Fondazione Arezzo Intour, are free of charge with compulsory reservation.
