October the month of chestnut

The Marrone DOP of Caprese Michelangelo is the protagonist of the weekend dedicated to the chestnut. Caprese Michelangelo is surrounded by secular chestnut trees that in the month of October offer their fruits. The chestnut has always been at the center of the life of the population, so much so that in the historical archives of Caprese there are documents on chestnut cultivation that date back to the eleventh century. On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October during the festival, it will be possible to buy chestnuts at the stands of the producers and to taste refined dishes prepared with the use of chestnuts and their derivatives. Moreover, guided tours are scheduled at the House Museum of Michelangelo Buonarroti.
