Weekend of 05 – 07 November: what to do in Arezzo area

Foiano Book Festival

This weekend the Book Festival returns to Foiano della Chiana, the literary kermis that unites national authors with emerging authors for a series of meetings with concerts, theatrical and cinematographic performances. The festival kicks off on Friday 5th November at 21.00 with Luca Mazzi who presents his book “Il vestito del massone”. On Saturday, November 6, it will be the turn of “La cena degli Dei” (The Gods’ Dinner) with sports journalist and host Marino Bartoletti (5pm) followed by Elisa Ruotolo, Strega Prize 2014, who will present “Quel luogo a me proibito” (That forbidden place). Sunday, November 7 beginning at 5:00 p.m. arrives at the Foiano Book Festival the essayist Alberto Rollo with his latest book “Il miglior tempo”. Music and Theater in the weekend

Appointments with the arts of theater and music at the weekend, through festivals and reviews of prose that enliven theaters and cultural venues in the area.
In Arezzo at the Teatro Petrarca, Saturday, November 6 starting at 21.00 appointment with the Youth Music Festival which offers performances by young talents. This weekend in concert Denis Kozhukhin on piano and Giovanni Andrea Zanon on violin. Classical music is also the protagonist in San Giovanni Valdarno, on Sunday 7th November at the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista. At 17.00 concert with the trio composed by Marzia Castellini soprano, Samuele Pala at the piano and Thomas Cavuoto at the viola, with music by Loeffler, Schumann and Brahms. Saturday, November 6, with departure at 10:30 am, a guided tour of DiscoverArezzo to visit the historic center of the city accompanied by a tour guide. The proposed itinerary leads to the discovery of the long history of Arezzo, from its Etruscan origins to its development in the Middle Ages and also allows you to visit the main places of the film set of the Oscar-winning film “La Vita è Bella”. The tour ends in the beautiful Piazza Grande, the heart of the city.
