The Baldetti farm is deeply tied to Tuscany and in particular to the Cortona area. Their true passion for their surrounding land was handed down generation to generation.
Since the end of the 1960s, Baldetti has focused its efforts on viticulture, with a complete renovation of the vineyards and modernisation of the winery. The wine produced was initially sold to merchants, but since the 1970s, with the begining of the DOC “Bianco Vergine della Valdichiana”, bottled wine production began.
When Baldetti introduced the new Cortona DOC in 2000, the winemaker further renovated the vineyards, with updated viticultural techniques that focus mainly on Syrah, which has become the reference grape variety for the area.
In 2012, Baldetti completed the new winery, setting the stage for a promising future with all family members involved in the venture.
Baldetti sees the great importance of all the wines they produce, and is particularly proud of the Cortona Doc Syrah “Crano”, the flagship wine. Quality is essential, and it embraces the entire production range, from vineyard care to know-how and technology in the cellar, to the relationship with the market. Love of winemaking is a key element in turning hard day-to-day work into something enjoyable and exciting, which is essential in order to achieve great results.
Finally, from the 2022 harvest onwards, the wines will be certified with the SQNPI label, which will guarantee the use of agronomic and cellar techniques that respect the environment and human health. This shows Baldetti’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and quality.
