Tenuta di Frassineto

Tenuta di Frassineto, located in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of the Val di Chiana. There are 30 hectares of land that are dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards, with the objective of producing the highest quality wines and to enhance an area of land that, to date, has not fully expressed its potential.
The vineyards of Tenuta di Frassineto have 18 hectares of white grapes (Semillon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Traminer, Pinot Bianco and Vermentino) and 12 hectares of red grapes (Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). These varieties were selected after having studied the soil and climate characteristics of the area. The vineyards are at an average altitude of 250 metres above sea level, and the vines grow on loamy-clayey soil with a considerable presence of skeleton. These are ideal conditions for the selected varieties.
The varieties express themselves best in these conditions: Chardonnay is used as a base for the production of high quality Metodo Classico sparkling wines; Vermentino, Semillon and Traminer are used to create aromatic white wines with a strong minerality and structure; Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are for the production of excellent reds, contributing to the valorisation and identification of an extremely valuable wine-growing area.
The company’s philosophy is strictly quality-oriented, with annual adjustments of grape production. In spring it’s through shoot thinning and then when it’s close to harvest time through thinning of the bunches. The Tenuta di Frassineto winery is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, designed to enhance the varietal and aromatic characteristics of these high quality grapes.
