Buccia Nera

The winemaking story of the Mancini family started at the end of the 19th century with the construction of the first winery in San Polo and the cultivation of their first vineyards on the Podere della Filandra. The family subsequently acquired the Campriano Estate and then the Muciafora Estate, which their most recent property. As early as 1926, the family engaged in production of Chianti Doc, using only concrete tanks. In the 1970s Amadio Mancini, along with his wife Patrizia, took over the management of the company and immediately set about modernising and improving the cultivation and production techniques. There was a vast amount of development during those years, as they renewed the vineyards and planted new olive groves.
In 2002 the company made yet another change. Along with the organic certification of all Buccia Nera vineyards, Buccia Nera started building a new cellar, and the family’s new generation joined the company.
Alessia, Roberta and Anastasia still run the business today, with the same passion and dedication that was handed down to them. The wine production comes from organic and sustainable agriculture.
