Mid-August weekend: what to do in the Arezzo area

The mid-August weekend is here and the Arezzo area offers many proposals for spending the summer holiday, with events and experiences in the name of art, history, music and nature.

Vintage Festival in Castiglion Fiorentino

Castiglion Fiorentino welcomes the entertaining Vintage Festival, which for several years in the week of Ferragosto has transformed the Valdichiana town into the ‘most American village’ in the province of Arezzo. From 12 to 15 August, it will be possible to relive the style, music and taste of the legendary 1950s and 1960s with many events such as the Vintage Market, Dance with workshops and Balboa lessons, stages with Live Music, and four stations for Rock n Roll, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues. There is also the food and wine proposal inspired by the decade of the American dream, but rigorously Tuscan thanks to the raw materials coming from the territory.

Tovaglia a Quadri in Anghiari

Until 19 August, every evening in Anghiari tables are set for the twenty-seventh edition of Tovaglia a Quadri, the entertaining “four-course dinner” that presents a village story interpreted by “local actors”, amid authentic memories and local myths. Event 2022 takes place within the ancient walls of Sorci Castle, in a unique setting of fun and good food.
On stage #LiceoContadino, which tells of how the community will inevitably have to develop the ability to survive an economic and social scenario in which rationing becomes the main imperative. A future with uncertain contours in which peasant life seems the only possible answer
