The “La Verna Icehouses path”, also called “Forest of fairies”, it’s one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the province of Arezzo, and it passes through the magnificent woods of La Verna, full of beech and fir trees, and other secular trees such as maple trees, ash trees and so on

The ring trail coasts Monte Penna rocky sides, among masses covered in musk that, along with the luxuriant vegetation, creates a fairy tale atmosphere all around. This spot is located in the Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna National Park, a beautiful place with the air filled with freshness even during summer. Along the path, which lies almost entirely in the shadow of the centennial forest, there are caves used since ancient time as icehouses to store food, from which fresh air constantly comes out, giving a pleasant and restoring sensation from hot summer days.
