A walk to discover a city and its unforgettable views.
On the occasion of the 20th edition of Urban Trekking, Arezzo tells its story through an unprecedented itinerary among stories now almost lost and traditions that still represent its beating heart, making it unique. A route to be discovered that will lead us to the majestic Fortezza Medicea with its magnificent views and its centuries-old history, the perfect setting, together with Piazza Grande, to enjoy the lively colours of the flag-wavers and musicians of the Joust of the Saracen.
Through the places and squares of the historical centre, between an anecdote and a story, the walk will take us to discover places of great charm that are not normally open to the public, guardians of stories and traditions that have their roots in medieval times. There will also be no lack of references to the Great Aretines of art such as Piero della Francesca, Giorgio Vasari, Pietro Lorenzetti and Bartolomeo della Gatta and the painting techniques they used, while our gaze will be captivated by their masterpieces.
