The Pratomagno is the mountain that divides the Casentino from the Valdarno and its ridge reaches an altitude of 1,592 meters. It is characterized on the top by the presence of a large mountain meadow and the mountain is the destination of itineraries to reach the Croce del Pratomagno, a large red iron structure, built in 1928 and renovated a few years ago. The panorama that can be enjoyed from the top ranges from the Valdarno to the Casentino.
The excursions take place every Tuesday, on the dates 20, 27 July and 3, 10, 17, 24 August. With the possibility of getting on the bus, the proposed itineraries are within everyone’s reach.
– 9.55 am, meeting with the guide at the Secchieta stop of the Circular bus service that goes up from Saltino-Vallombrosa.
– 10.00 am, guided excursion dedicated to the ridge forests and grasslands (length 7 km – height difference 315 m).
– 1.00 pm return from the excursion and lunch break.
– 3.30 pm return to the car with the circular bus service to Vallombrosa-Saltino.
