To prove that a religious path, a thematic path, a historical path have much to tell even in winter can one? This is the challenge taken up in taking you and accompanying you on the famous route between Florence and La Verna, La Via di Francesco in Tuscany, on the classic stage (the third of the six proposed) from Consuma to the village of Stia.

Further information

Meeting point at Bar Consumi at 9:30 and departure in the direction of Gualdo, Villa and Castel Castagnaio.

Lunch break (self-managed) in support at the Ospitale di San Jacopo in Villa and arrival in Stia via Campolombardo: have you never heard of these places? This is absolutely a good reason to participate! And you will also be able to enter inside the walls of the Castle of Castagnaio, exceptionally open for the occasion, the most forgotten of the Guidi Family castles, opposite the ancestral site of Poggio Tramonti …. sacred and profane mix, and the stage proves to be truly unique in the area.

And then there are ancient hospices for pilgrims and recurring sacred images such as that of St Roch in ‘travelling’ clothes and with a broadsword.

Have we intrigued you a little? We hope so! Legs on your shoulders then! The route is 16 km and requires a good walking habit.

The return to the cars will be by bus service from Stia Firenze (departure from Stia Paese 17:45). Bus ticket not included in the cost of the excursion.
