Chiusi della Verna celebrates Pietro Perugino, the divine painter.
Five hundred years after the death of Pietro Perugino, one of the great protagonists of Italian Renaissance painting, Chiusi della Verna intends to celebrate the divine painter with an exhibition that takes as its starting point a cycle of frescoes painted, starting in 1500, by one of the Umbrian master’s pupils, Gerino da Pistoia.
The medallions with the figures of Saints and Blesseds of the Franciscan Order frescoed by Gerino on the doors of the cells of the dormitory of the friars of the Alvernina foundation allow the visitor to explore the production of Perugino and some of his pupils in the land of Arezzo.
