A journey to Paradise, fleeing from the dark hell built by man, with the guidance of the verses of Dante’s comedy, the voice and thoughts of the mystics of all time: this is the central theme of “Paradiso – From Darkness to Light “, the new show by Simone Cristicchi which, after its debut at the San Miniato Theater Festival, will be staged on Thursday 29 July at 9.15 pm with OIDA – Orchestra unstable of Arezzo at the Sanctuary of La Verna (Chiusi della Verna) L admission to the show will be free, for the access and reservations methods, will be communicated on the OIDA website and on the website of the Municipality of Chiusi della Verna. Simone Cristicchi, actor, musician, eclectic writer, engages with Dante’s poem by offering his original and suggestive point of view accompanied on stage by twenty-two elements of OIDA unstable Orchestra of Arezzo, a symphonic reality with which he has been collaborating regularly for some time: The show thus becomes an interior journey as an initiatory journey, where poetry is the instrument of transformation from matter to pure spirit, and the encounter with the image of God is the revelation of a universal message, which crosses time. The music is by maestro Valter Sivilotti and by Simone Cristicchi, who is also the director of the opera. “Paradiso – From darkness to light” enjoys the patronage of the National Committee for the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri. The show, written by Cristicchi himself together with Manfredi Rutelli, is produced by Elsinor Theater Production Center, Arca Azzurra Teatro, Accademia Perduta Romagna Teatri and Fondazione Istituto Dramma Popolare di San Miniato. The setting of La Verna is not accidental: in addition to the beauty and charm of the places of the Sanctuary, linked to the figure of St. Francis who received the stigmata here, OIDA has chosen this place for Cristicchi’s show as the ideal conclusion to OIDA Campus, a school residential summer for younger musicians and professionals in progress in July in nearby Chiusi which will hold the final essays of the two classes at the Sanctuary (registration by 30 June www.oidarezzo.it/oida-campus-2021)
