The Porta del Foro Museum will be open to the public free of charge on the days of the Arezzo Antique Fair.
The Porta del Foro District Museum is located in the historic rooms above the Porta di San Lorentino. This exhibition space was created as a tribute to Giancarlo Felici, a renowned Rector of the district, and is the result of a long and complex restoration project carried out by the members of the district.
The museum is spread over two floors. On the upper floor, there is the Trophy Room, a space dedicated to celebrating the district’s victories in the Saracen Joust, the historic chivalric competition that brings Arezzo to life. The lower floor offers a journey into the history and traditions of the yellow and crimson district, featuring an exhibition of historical costumes and an informative pathway that tells the story of the origins, key figures, and most significant moments of the Saracen Joust.
The Porta del Foro Museum is not just an exhibition space but a true point of reference for the community and for all those who wish to learn more about the history and traditions of Porta del Foro and the Saracen Joust.
