"One, no one and a hundred thousand" is back, the initiative whose protagonist is the book and which aims to transform the squares of Castiglion Fiorentino into open-air bookstores.

One because each book will cost one euro, None because no one is excluded and can donate or buy a book, One hundred thousand is the number of books to be collected and redistributed.
The initiative, launched in 2020, provides for books donated by residents in the Municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino to be put up for sale in the squares at the symbolic price of € 1; the proceeds from the project are intended to support the activities of the Municipal Library.
Each square in the historic center of Castiglion Fiorentino will have a theme based on the genre of the books hosted: in piazza del Collegio children’s fiction, in piazza dello Stillo art, history and science, in piazza del Municipio Italian and foreign fiction and this year the sale will also take place in the Cassero square, where local history books will be distributed.
With the same fil rouge, art will also be declined in every place, which will act as a corollary to the initiative with performances of painting, sculpture and theater aimed at adults and children, in the evocative setting of the historic center.
The theme identified for the 2021 edition is sustainable development and the recycling of materials and buildings, for the protection of the environment and assets for future generations. An economy no longer based on a concept of extreme consumerism and disposable, but in which the exploitation of goods is continued until actual wear and tear and the impossibility of further use of the object. Whether it’s a book, or a property.
