Lo Spino, uphill legends

Provincial Road 208 of La Verna, more commonly known as the Passo dello Spino (Spino Pass), will be the stage for the event ‘Lo Spino: Leggende in Salita’ (The Spino: Uphill Legends).

There will be two parades that will cover the glorious 12.7 km from Pieve Santo Stefano to the Passo dello Spino: one on Saturday morning, with lunch in the village of Chiusi della Verna and a visit to the Franciscan Sanctuary, followed by the return of the crews to Pieve Santo Stefano and dinner with prize-giving at Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of the illustrious artist, Michelangelo Buonarroti.
The second parade scheduled for Sunday 23 September will conclude the event, with a final lunch in Pieve and the organisers’ farewell to all participants.
