Three days of events, convivial appointments and shows with a medieval theme.
The ancient village in the province of Arezzo, founded in 1300 and contested for centuries between Florence and Arezzo, also mentioned in the Divine Comedy, pays tribute to its past with the Laterina Medieval Festival.
From Friday to Sunday: three days to go back in time, among historical processions in costumes, jesters, jugglers, acrobats, and traditional flavors.
The festival opens when the castle gate is flung open, and a grand procession of nobles, commoners, and soldiers kicks off the celebrations. The streets of the historic center become an open-air stage for a true street theater spectacle, with music, jugglers, and fire-eaters. Amidst historical reenactments, soaring raptor displays, and competitions between crossbowmen and archers, you can also admire the ancient war machines, visit the Guinigi Tower and the military camp, and feast in taverns where dishes are served according to medieval tradition.
