“L’ARDITA:” Get ready to pedal. A uphill and downhill challenge taking you through the beautiful, historical Bicycle Tour of the Alpe di Poti area, on routes ridden by champions of the “Tour of Italy” cycling race.

Travel the same route and put forth the same effort as past cycling champions when you set out on this adventure that starts from the city and takes you through the Tuscan countryside. You’ll start pedaling in the Piazza Grande square, past the Cathedral of Arezzo and the adjacent Prato Park, along the road that flanks the Medici Fortress and head down to the bridge over the Arno known as the “Ponte della Gioconda.” From there, you’ll climb again towards the Alpe di Poti area.

Three routes that are perfect for families, biking enthusiasts and athletes.

The 30km Gourmet Route is great for families. This route has a gentle climb that leads to a beautiful area, with many small villages along the way. Here you can see great views of the Arezzo area and enjoy some of the local foods.

The 50km Classic Route is best for adventurous cyclists who want to discover the hidden landscapes in the Arezzo area as you head towards the wonderful and wild Castetino area.

The 80km “L’Ardita” Route requires a lot of effort but gives back many rewards. This route begins at the same point as the Classic Route but becomes more challenging when you begin the return trip to Arezzo. There is a serious climb as you head towards the Alpe di Poti area but once you get there, you can take in the views of the Arezzo area from this unique vantage point. At the Alpe pass, just before you make your way down towards the valley, you can stop at the legendary restaurant of the area and become part of a cycling tradition that has been around for many years.
