  5. LA LIBERA MANIERA: ABSTRACT AND INFORMAL ART

La libera maniera: abstract and informal art

A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Italian abstract and informal art from the Intesa Sanpaolo collections

Curated by Marco Bazzini, a well-known scholar of contemporary art, the exhibition presents a selection of thirty-four works taken from the prestigious Intesa Sanpaolo collections. This innovative exhibition project is divided into two stages: the first in Arezzo and the second in Jesi, to be held from 7 December 2024 to 5 May 2025.
The exhibition explores the period from the end of the Second World War to the early 1960s, a crucial time for Italy when the country was recovering from the ruins of the war and building a new cultural identity. These years were characterised by an artistic renaissance, with works by illustrious artists such as Afro Basaldella, Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Carla Accardi, Bruno Munari, Enrico Baj and Carol Rama.
