A tribute to the musical genre that has contributed to fostering dialogue between different peoples and cultures, a vehicle of respect for human rights, aimed at strengthening equality by breaking down all forms of discrimination.
Music and readings to retrace the songs of jazz, a repertoire accompanied by narrations of curiosities and anecdotes. The origins, the characters, the traditional African-American spiritual song with songs such as “Sinnerman” and “Joshua feet the battle of Jericho” brought to success by singers also committed to civil rights (Nina Simone, Mahalia Jackson). But also a tribute to swing (Frank Sinatra, Sammy David Jr., Johnny Hartman) and ballads (Moody’ Mood, But Beautiful, Come rain or come shine).
On the stage of Spazio Seme, there will perform:
Gianni Bruschi (vocals)
Ivan Elefante (trumpet)
Francesco Sarrini (double bass)
Federico Nuti (piano)
Saverio Cacopardi (drums)
Texts and readings by Francesco Botti.
