Ersilia, Circo delle Città Invisibili

On the 100th anniversary of Italo Calvino’s birth, the Quattrox4 company pays homage to his “Invisible Cities” with a contemporary circus performance that engages the audience in an imaginative experience inspired by the kaleidoscopic and visionary storytelling of the renowned author.

“Ersilia,” created by Clara Storti, draws inspiration from visual and thematic elements of the literary work to compose a creative and artistic journey using scenographic elements and small installations. The young audience, in dialogue with the performers, actively participates in the creation of spaces, co-creating fragile relationships or multiple constellations, constructing vivid metaphors that the circus artist inhabits with their strength and fragility. This refined performance bridges the gap between reality and utopia through contemporary circus, stimulating participation and becoming the creator of an evocative narrative, much like Calvino’s, that opens our eyes to what is, what could be, and what we wish our world to be.
