The Museum of the Art of Wool in Stia presents the exhibition "Dante and the Art of Textiles: interweaving of threads as a symbol of life in the Divine Comedy", open until January 6, 2022. An event to discover in the Divine Comedy, the tercets that deal directly or indirectly with spinning and weaving.

The exhibition, in celebrating the 700th anniversary of the death of the great poet, highlights in the three canticles of the Divine Comedy, all the tercets that deal directly or indirectly with spinning and weaving: in some cases Dante explains with precision the textile processing and what was the male and female fashion of the time.
Dante’s textile quotations are placed on the walls of the museum rooms accompanied by illustrations by the great nineteenth-century artist Gustave Doré.
In the didactic panels, it is explained how the Casentino was the ideal place, thanks to its natural characteristics, for the development of textile art and many other curiosities.
