The festival, in its 13th edition, explores a wide range of storytelling mediums. Starting with photography as the fundamental language of visual communication, it embraces narratives that incorporate video, sound, texts, and other immersive and installation elements.
Cortona On The Move was born in 2011 from an idea of the Cultural Association ONTHEMOVE, whose objective is to promote and disseminate contemporary photography, seeking new visions and original forms of visual communication. The festival provides a continuous exchange between industry experts and a constant search for works that document the ever-evolving language of visuals, all set in the exceptional backdrop of the Etruscan town of Cortona.
“More or Less” is the chosen theme for the 13th edition of Cortona On The Move, the international photography festival scheduled from July 13th to October 1st, 2023, in Cortona, in the heart of Tuscany. The highlight of the event will be, as every year, during the opening days of the festival (July 13-16), when the greatest national and international experts in the field of photography gather in Cortona for events, presentations, talks, and workshops, promoting reflections on current affairs and the past through one of the most powerful tools to investigate reality.
The exhibitions of Cortona On The Move are set up in the historic buildings of the town center and in the Girifalco Fortress.
