The Festival is, therefore, an opportunity not only to see beautiful films but also to get to know the people who have made cinema their lives, “said Massimiliano Lachi, Councilor for Culture.

The Festival, sponsored by the Tuscany Region, from this year (and until 2023) will have a new director: the director Romeo Conte, already the creator and promoter of other highly successful Italian festivals, who – with his Events Production – will take care of the selection of films and guests, the general and technical management and the secretariat. The director took up this new challenge with great enthusiasm, believing that Castiglion Fiorentino could become the navel of Italian comedy cinema.

Mr. Wilson’s ulcer, led by President Jacopo Bucciantini, will instead deal with the logistics, the stylistic concept of the event and the organization on site, while Francesca Capaccioli will follow public relations.

“We are very happy with what we will be able to offer this year to the public, both in terms of guests and films, and this shows that we have used these months of apparent pause to build brilliant projects and ideas in order to achieve the set goals. For seven years now, Castiglion Fiorentino has been transformed into a citadel of cinema, offering those who participate in it pleasant evenings but also ideas for in-depth analysis of important issues. The “seventh art” will therefore animate the new Castiglionese summer »declares the mayor Mario Agnelli.
