  5. BéLA TARR / ADRIAN PACI: MELANCHOLY OF RESISTANCE

Béla Tarr / Adrian Paci: Melancholy of Resistance

The exhibition brings into dialogue the research of Béla Tarr, a cult figure of world cinema, with that of the internationally renowned artist Adrian Paci

The exhibition aims to compare the research of Tarr, known for his bold and contemplative cinema-tic style, with that of Paci, whose work spans video, painting and photography, keeping the creative potential alive in his finished works. Both address socio-political issues, including migrants and the marginalised, and share a vision of the creative act as an act of resistance, also inspired by the words of Deleuze.
Through a series of projections and installations, the exhibition offers an in-depth look at the works of both artists, examining how artistic fiction can reorganise visibility and reveal the deep structures of reality. From Tarr’s sophisticated sequence plans to Paci’s pictorial reinterpretation of stills, the exhibition offers an overview of the two artists’ different modes of expression and their visions of the world.
