The Antiques Fair of Arezzo is the queen of the city’s events. This fair began in 1968 and still takes place every first Sunday of the month and the preceding Saturday. The fair fills the streets of the historic center of Arezzo with hundreds of exhibitors selling their treasures. The heart of the fair is the Piazza Grande square, also known as the Vasari square and the square from the film Life is Beautiful. Here you can see works of art, furniture, jewelry, bijoux, watches, books, antique prints and many other types of collectibles.
Once a year in September, the Antiques Fair moves out of the Piazza Grande square to free the space up for the famous “Giostra del Saracino.” The Prato Park area is used for that month’s edition of the Antiques Fair bringing the crowds to this Renaissance park and its adjacent Medici Fortress which dominate this highest part of Arezzo.
