Arezzo is the city where Guido Monaco around the year one thousand conceived the modern musical notation with the adoption of the tetragrammaton. The Cultural Foundation that bears his god is organizing the second edition of the “Amphitheater under the Stars” event, which offers musical and theatrical events to make you live a summer in the name of the arts and entertainment.
The place chosen for the events is one of the most evocative in Arezzo, the Roman Amphitheater, close to the historic center, dating back to the second century. A.D., which in the large lawn-arena allows to host live shows. After the first appointments of the past weeks, with the second half of July the bill comes alive. Before some shows, the public will also be able to visit the adjacent Archaeological Museum which houses, among other masterpieces, the richest collection in the world of sealed clay vases with objects dating back to the mid-first century BC. and the middle of the 1st century A.D. and that the Arezzo people of the time exported throughout the Roman world.
The concert program brings live music by national and international artists to the stage of the Amphitheater for six evenings with Arezzo Music Fest, an event promoted by the historic Mengo Fest.
Among the artists there will be Motta (22 July), Negrita (31 July), Subsonica (26 August). On July 24, appointment with the Gioacchino Rossini Philharmonic. There will also be events dedicated to children with NATA Teatro in Briciole di fiaba (25 July) and If Pinocchio was Little Red Riding Hood (30 July).
In August, the theater with Goodnight Stories for Rebel Children with the actress and singer-songwriter Margherita Vicario, accompanied by the Multiethnic Orchestra of Arezzo (4 August). Wednesday 11 August the exclusive Rava Plays Rava feat JOTC Open Orchestra concert.
On 29 August the Gala of the Opera stars returns to Arezzo with the tenor Mario Cassi as protagonist along with other prestigious names of the Opera, while on 31 August there will be Fask in concert (admission fee 22 euros + presale rights).
Last evening of the Amphitheater under the Stars, on 9 September with the event “Artistic Re-Connections” with Alfa Ballet, Jazz Club Arezzo, Libera Accademia del Teatro and Foto Club Chimera Arezzo who will share a show aimed at uniting the realities that are part of of the artistic world of Arezzo.
