Federico Rampini will be a guest at Medici Fortress as part of the “Alti Scaffali” series.

The meeting with the renowned columnist of Corriere della Sera will be titled: “Africa, Where Our Future is at Stake.” On this occasion, Rampini will unveil his new book “La speranza africana” (The African Hope) for the first time on a national scale. The growth of the global population will be concentrated in Africa; the continent holds the raw materials that the world needs for its transition to a sustainable economy. However, Africa is often dominated by a catastrophic narrative, where disasters and suffering make the news, and the Western world mixes in feelings of guilt and a culture of aid that frequently breeds dependency and corruption.
Alessandro Artini, the President of the Arezzo Library, will be present in the role of the moderator.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the stage will be taken over by the “Avanzi di Balera”, Santino ‘Penna’ Cherubini, Alessandro Lisi, and Francesco Maria Rossi: the celebrated trio of ‘Aretine anthropologists’ will provide their irreverent and humorous insights on the topics discussed.

Due to adverse weather conditions, Federico Rampini’s conference scheduled at the Fortezza on Saturday, September 16th at 6:00 PM has been moved to the Auditorium Caurum Hall Guido d’Arezzo.
