In the historical centre of Arezzo the appointment with the Antiques Fair is renewed and in Valdichiana the Foiano Book Festival opens with many special guests. At the weekend, theatre in Castiglion Fiorentino, classical music in San Giovanni Valdarno and guided tours through history and nature.
The Antiques Fair in the centre of Arezzo
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November sees the renewal of the appointment with the Antiques Fair. An invitation to discover the marvellous historical centre of Arezzo through the universe of antiques, modern antiques and vintage goods. Immersed in the charm of the past and art, it will be possible to browse among the stalls of the many exhibitors who, coming from all over Italy, offer all kinds of rarities. With this edition, the Fair’s opening hours are updated. Saturday will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Foiano Book Festival
Foiano della Chiana proposes the Book Festival, a literary festival that brings together national authors and emerging authors for a series of meetings joined by concerts, theatre and film performances. The festival kicks off on Saturday 5 November with actor Marco Bonini presenting his latest book (5 pm), followed by a meeting with singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mauro Pagani. At 9 p.m., director Pupi Avati will present his book published by Solferino “L’alta fantasia”. On Sunday, literary encounters will continue with Don Marco Pozzi, Antonio Fusco and Enrico Galiano, author of novels aimed especially at young people.
The festival’s collateral initiatives include the photographic-digital exhibition “Pier Paolo Pasolini Pensieri Parole” dedicated to the poet on the centenary of his birth, curated by Massimo Magurano, and the “Rigorosamente analogico” (Strictly analogue) exhibition as part of Foiano Fotografia dedicated to art photography, curated by the Fotoclub Furio del Furia.

Music and theatre at the weekend
Theatre and music are the protagonists of festivals and reviews that enliven theatres and cultural venues in the territory. At the Mario Spina Theatre in Castiglion Fiorentino on Sunday 6 November at 5.00 p.m., the musical ‘B.L.U.E.’ by the Improvvisazione Teatrale Bugiardini company will be performed, a show inspired by the atmosphere, music and narration typical of Broadway musicals.
In San Giovanni Valdarno, at the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista, the classical music festival continues: on Sunday 6 November, starting at 4.30 p.m., a tribute to Humberto Quagliata. After the conference entitled ‘Art and humanity of Humberto Quagliata’ held by musician and critic Luca Ciammarughi, there will be a piano recital by Mario Prisuelos, a pupil of Maestro Quagliata. Free admission.
Sunday 6 November at 5 p.m. at the Cinema Nuovo in Capolona, appointment with the children’s theatre review “Voglio la Luna” (I want the moon). On stage Nata Teatro with “The Bremen Musicians”, a story that involves the audience and speaks of friendship, hope and the will to overcome any obstacle.

On Saturday 5 November, starting at 10.30 a.m., a guided tour DiscoverArezzo to visit the historical city centre accompanied by a tourist guide. The proposed itinerary accompanies participants in the discovery of Arezzo’s long history, from its Etruscan origins to its development in the Middle Ages, and also allows them to visit the main locations of the film set of the Oscar-winning film ‘Life is Beautiful’. The tour ends in the beautiful Piazza Grande, the heart of the city.
